Welcome to wild@heart, a new ministry for young men at Crabapple First Baptist Church.

Wild@Heart is a ministry for young men in grades 6 - 12 designed to use adventures, challenging activities and the outdoors to teach Biblical principles, engage young men toward Spiritual growth, and foster stronger, more meaningful friendships with peers. The ministry involves meeting at the church weekly to literally go on an adventure. The boys will do something fun, adventurous and challenging. They will not know in advance what the adventure is, because that’s part of the adventure. Boys will be notified in advance if there’s anything special they need to wear or bring. The boys will be encouraged to work together, overcome fears and uncertainties, support and encourage each other, to work/play hard and to have fun.

The leaders will then use some aspect of the adventure or challenge to teach the boys an important Biblical principle. Time will be allotted for the boys to answer some questions, ponder some thoughts, think about how they can apply the Biblical principle that was taught, and even do some accountability.

Over school breaks and during the summer, the ministry will be able to have longer and more intense adventures that may involve a day trip or an overnight stay somewhere.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Time Activity Description
6:30 pmBASE CAMPYoung men and leaders assemble in a pre-agreed meeting place. Open in prayer.
6:30 – 6:40 pmASCENTTravel (if necessary) to the adventure for the night.
This time will be used to explain the adventure, go over rules, etc.
6:40 – 7:30 pmCHALLENGEThe adventure. Leaders will supervise, encourage and challenge the young men as a whole and individually.
7:30 – 7:50 pmCONNECTTime for questions, discussion, teaching, accountability.
7:50 – 8:00 pmDESCENTTravel back to church (if necessary). Clean-up. Cool down.
